Suisen is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant close to the base.  It's pretty high up on the rotation.  Their lunch specials are really cheap at a 600 yen base price (plus tax brings it to 650 yen), and their house fried rice is incredibly popular.   They can get quite busy and it's a small place, but they are also pretty fast at cooking their food.

I usually get a fried chicken with vegetables lunch special, but today it wasn't available so I tried something new, the fried pork with vermicelli noodles (#3 in the menu if you're looking for it).  The daily special menu is only in Japanese and usually includes a ramen (#1), mahbodoufu (soft tofu in a goopy sauce) and a liver dish (#5).  #3 is where my usual is, so I went for that again.  The specials come with some soup and a bowl of rice, which it turns out is sometimes just too much, like today.

The dish I got was quite a lot of food, not a ton of flavor, but the spicy oil took care of that.  I much prefer the fried chicken dish, which will hopefully be back someday.  Still, the other food at this place is much closer to what I like in chinese food, if a little too oily sometimes.  It's a pity about the frequent smoking that takes place here.  Also, they have one of the cheapest "all you can eat" menus around if that's your style.  It's quite popular with folks from the base and the most common dish you'll hear ordered is the House Fried rice.  It is an incredible fried rice with tons of meat.  It's a dish all on its own, or good to share with one other main dish and someone else.
