Well this was a bit of a disappointment.  Korahonten was the last of the restaurants down at "restaurant corner" as we call it, a collection of several restaurants a bit further down 16 from us.  We had eaten at all the others but we'd always been a bit intimidated by Korahonten as it appeared *very* Japanese and specialized in crab dishes.  I finally convinced my wife to come with me and give it a try the other day.

Crab miso soup, kanimiso and crab maki roll

It was much less intimidating inside than it appeared from the outside, although the menu is all in Japanese, but the pictures are easy to figure out.  The prices are quite high, especially if you go for the multicourse meals.  We weren't feeling it so we ordered ala cart.

Crab croquette

Nothing was particularly bad, but neither was anything great, and the flavors were unimpressive.  We've only eaten crab in Sapporo before, so maybe that's not fair, but it wasn't as good.  And my wife, who is much more the crab connoisseur than I am, claims Pacific NW crab is better overall.

Not sure what this was, but it was pretty tasty

In any case, here are the pictures...nothing really jumps out at me that I need to comment on it.  Giving this place an Ok.
